Future looks dim for X Factor boyband as they get the boot

X Factor Futureproof

Futureproof are the latest act to get the chop on ITV’s X-Factor – and it was mentor Simon Cowell who swung the final blow.

The boyband, who formed at the boot camp stage of the competition, were devastated when their name was announced by Cowell. Judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh had also picked them to go home over girl band Hope.

The boy’s sang a cover of Andy Williams’ Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, and were criticised by the panel by their lack of movement and vocal performance.

In other X Factor news, 15 year old Emily was booted off the show after The Sun revealed videos of her in a “Happy Slap” attack and threatening to cut a boy’s eyes out.

Dermot O’Leary announced at the beginning of Saturday night’s show that the youngest contestant on the show had decided to withdraw after the allegations.

Meanwhile, this week saw the contestants singing with a big band. Most of the acts received positive comments after last week, although there was still room for a little bitching between Simon and Louis – which is par for the coarse, especially after a Same Difference performance. Scene stealer of the night was the Rhydster, who strutted down the stairs in the audience wearing a white fur coat and glittery suit,  belting out Pink’s Get This Party Started in operatic style. Fabulous – and I say Rhydian to win! But one question Dannii – Rhyds singing Pink with a big band – how the hell did you dream up that one sweetie?!
