Irish golfer Padraig Harrington says he had no idea about Tiger Woods’ multiple infidelities.

Speaking last Friday on RTE chat show The Late Late Show, Harrington told host Ryan Tubridy how Tiger would retire to his room early – and said “I just assumed he was playing video games.”

When Tubridy questioned him about the revelations, asking: “What do you make of what’s been happening – it’s been just a car crash”, Padraig dead panned: “Well you know….it was a car crash wasn’t it?” When asked had he any sympathy for the golfer, he replied ‘No. I don’t have sympathy. You choose your own path’.

Harrington believes Tiger will return to the golf course saying: ‘I expect him back sooner rather than later’.

Celebrities continue to pay tribute to actress Brittany Murphy, who died yesterday aged 32.

Ex Ashton Kutcher was one of the first to send condolences to her family. The two famously dated back in 2002 after shooting rom-com Just Married.

Her Co-star in Clueless Alicia Silverstone said:  ‘I always felt connected to her as we shared a very special experience in our lives together.

‘I feel love in my heart for her – and hope she is at peace. This is truly sad. I loved working with Brittany. She was so talented, so warm, and so sweet.’

American band Rage Against the Machine have beaten X Factor winner Joe McElderry to the coveted Christmas No1 spot and subsequently pissed Simon Cowell off for about 5 minutes.

Rage’s Killing In The Name sold a staggering 500,000 singles to Joe’s 450,000 copies of Miley Cyrus hit “The Climb”. The Rage song entered the charts after a Facebook campaign set up by Jon and Tracey Morter to get the 1992 hit from the band to Number 1 sparked mass support from members of the public who were sick of the X Factor “processed” pop scaling the charts at Xmas. Celebrities including Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl backed the campaign….but the No1 slot was in the bag when Steve Brookstein got behind the rockers.

Frontman Zach De La Rocha told Scott Mills: “We’re great, we’re very very ecstatic and excited about the song reaching the Number One spot and I just want to say we want to thank everyone for participating in this incredible, organic grass roots campaign.

(Organic grassroots campaign? It’s the effing UK Top 40, but OK…)

He continued: “It’s more about the spontaneous action taken by young people in the UK to topple this very sterile pop monopoly. When young people decide to take action they can make what’s seemingly impossible, possible.”

The band pledged to donate a portion of their profits to Shelter, a UK homeless charity and give a free performance in the UK in 2010.

Personally, I was hoping for Gaga to beat ‘em both and take the spoils, but congratulations to both artists – and of course to Shelter and Jon and Tracey Morter. And to Sony – they must have shekels pouring out their ears tonight.

Who knows – maybe next year Joe and Rage could team up for a collaboration. That’d f****g sell for sure.

Brittany Murphy, star of Clueless, 8 Mile and Just Married has died. Website TMZ broke the story early on Sunday. Information suggests she went into cardiac arrest this morning and could not be revived. Murphy was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars Sinai Hospital. She was 32.

Celebrity pals have begun to pay tribute via Twitter.

Ashton Kutcher writes: “2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon. see you on the other side kid.”

X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman tweeted: “Just found out that my friend… childhood best friend died. I love you Brittany and know you’re in a better place RIP.”

Reality star Khloe Kardashian: “This is horrible news when anyone passes. I’m so sorry for her family. Send prayers out please!”

Sources say a 911 call was made from a house in LA listed in her husband’s name. News also emerged that Brittany’s mother reportedly found her unconscious in the shower this morning. Upon arrival the paramedics determined she was in full cardiac arrest and administered CPR until they reached the hospital. LA County Coroner will now launch an investigation, as will the LAPD.

UPDATE: Reports from TMZ state that Murphy’s husband does not want an autopsy performed on his wife. The LA County Coroner will proceed with the autopsy despite Mr. Monjack’s wishes.

Brittany’s mother supposedly told paramedics that her daughter had a history of diabetes. On Sky News this evening Jeanne Wolf, Editor of Parade Magazine, told Sky News that Murphy suffered from a heart murmur.

“This is a girl who was so full of life,” she said. “She lit up the room when she entered. To think of her dying so young is very, very sad.”

Brittany’s publicist, Nicole Perna, released a brief statement:

“In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support.  It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”

Stacey Solomon has been voted off the X Factor this evening.

After 3 performances, including a duet with Michael Buble, the Dagenham Diva failed to receive as  many votes as rivals Joe McElderry and Olly Murs. Stacey wowed the judges with What a Wonderful Word, Feelin’ Good and Who Wants to Live Forever.

The Essex lass took the news well, saying she was delighted to have made the final 3. Joe and Olly will now battle it out tomorrow night for the X Factor recording contract.

Pats and Eddy are off to drown their sorrows…. For now, enjoy Stacey’s duet with The Buble:

Earlier today I mentioned there was a rumour floating about that Dannii Minogue may quit the X Factor (source: 3AM.co.uk). I know every year since she started there have been rumours that Dannii was not coming back, but given that she spends as much time as you lot on Twitter I thought if it weren’t true she’d deny it. So far, nothing from Team Minogue. Sources told 3AM that while it has not been confirmed yet it is ‘highly likely’ Dannii will NOT return to judges panel next year and Simon is already looking for a replacement. Mel B is one of the suggestions, and Louis is backing her big time. Kelly Rowland has also been mentioned because she “knows what she’s talking about”.  That sweetie, does not a decent judge make and at the risk of sounding repetitive…BORING!!!! We want feisty, funny, bitchy, catty judges  – isn’t that what we all tune in for each week, apart from the singing and Jedward obviously? Dannii manages to encompass all those traits as well as giving constructive criticism to contestants and while we love to look at what car part Cheryl is wearing on her person each week, Dannii is definitely beating her overall in terms or style, judging and quality of contestants this year.

Dannii has received praise from Sinitta and Louis Walsh this year (and Lord knows it’s hard to drag a compliment out of those two) for how she has handled herself on the panel and if she is off to spend time in Oz with boyf Kris Green (well done there Dan) we wish her all the best. But she’s a hard act to follow.

“It’s me or the golf.” I bet Elin Nordegren was not the first wife to issue that ultimatum. But sensible Tiger has picked his beautiful wife over his career and announced last night that he was taking an indefinite break from golf to try and save his marriage.

Is it just me or is anyone counting down the hours until the X Factor final kicks off? Thought not! Now that its down to wor Joe, the Dagenham Diva and…..er, Olly, who will be the last one standing with a shiny new recording contract? (and of course the Crimbo No1…Facebook or no, Rage Against the Machine haven’t a hope) Bookies and tabloids today suggest that it’s Joe McElderry by a landslide, with Stacey finishing second and Olly third. But who knows – it’s not exactly been a predictable series so far has it *coughLuciecough*.

In other X Factor news, there are rumours that George Michael may NOT perform on the show tonight. Well, one rumour really – but it came from Dannii Minogue’s Twitter account. If Dannii is not reliable I don’t know who is. The latest update is from George’s people who say he’s coming. Patsy will keep you posted.
Now, Dannii could be stirring it because there’s ANOTHER rumour (courtesy of the fab 3am gals) that she is to get the boot as judge in favour of Mel *yawn* B. I hope it’s not true, Dan has been my favourite judge this year. But not long to go before we find out!

So the Pricey has decided she can’t live without Alex/Roxanne in her life and has taken the cage dancing, porn starring, stiletto wearing muscle man back. But reports say it’s because the Model….SORRY! – Businesswoman is scared s***less that Alex will tell all about their love life.

Katie, who dumped Alex live on telly after she left the Australian jungle in I’m A Celeb, told Ant and Dec: “I think it’s best I’m on my own, I just don’t want to be in a relationship.” Alex had flown to Australia to propose to Katie. Talk about getting burnt…

While in the “relationship” Reid signed a confidentiality agreement, which banned him from talking about any of Jordan’s secrets (does Jordan even HAVE secrets anymore?) – but according to the Daily Star, Reid signed it “Roxy”, rendering the agreement invalid. Smart lad.

Now Jordan is supposedly terrified that Alex is going to slag her off for breaking up with him on live television and took him back so he’d stay schtum. The couple are now reported to be living together in Jordan’s Surrey mansion.

With a rumoured Celeb Big Brother appearance in the offing for Alex, Jordan might want to buy Alex/Roxy a nice pair of Christian Laboutin’s and a decent hairpiece over Crimbo to keep him quiet that little bit longer.

For all of us hoping X Factor semi-finallist Danyl Johnson would spill about his X Factor experience, the walk outs, diva strops, the rumoured bust up with Olly, secret romances and judges bitchery…he hasn’t.

Johnson  27, who has been a controversial contestant since the first live show says the X Factor house was a harmonious one. “Everyone just got on really well. We were all like brothers and sisters. We got on, so, so well.” The more you say it the more I believe you Danyl.

The teacher from Reading said he found it hard to live up to that first performance at the audition, which mentor Simon Cowell hailed as the best first audtion he had ever seen.

“It was only a disadvantage towards me – I had to beat that performance.”

He said: “It was a bit like when Susan (Boyle) – and I’m not comparing it in any way – but it’s a bit like when Susan did her audition. The first time it’s easier to wow.

“You’re always going to be up against that performance, it’s just so over-hyped.”

Danyl has remained positive since losing out to Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon and Joe McElderry for a place in the final. “It’s nothing to be ashamed of, being fourth place, and I’ve really had a really good time,” he insists. One would think he’d just been on The Generation Game with Bruce Forsyth and ended up with the cuddly toy instead of the new Volvo.

For the first time in the history of existence, Golf is actually interesting. But for all the wrong reasons.

Another one of Tiger’s bits on the side has come forward (Number 7 for those of you who are at this point losing count) to spill the beans on his prowess in the sack. And get this…she’s only a porn star! Holly Sampson (fantastic porn star name BTW) has claimed she was once a mistress of the golfer, who married model Elin Nordegren back in 2004.

Details of Woods’ infidelity emerged after he crashed his car into a tree in the early hours of November 27th. A confrontation between Tiger and and his wife is believed to have occurred shortly beforehand, after Elin learned of her husband’s cheating.  Below are the names of the women who’ve claimed to have had affairs with Tiger and what they’ve been saying – although some have been keeping mum on the subject.

Rachel Uchitel: Rumoured to have been in a relationship with Woods for the last 5 months.
Holly Samson: Porn Star. Enough said.
Jamie Grubbs: Told her he wasn’t financially stable and was according to her, crap in bed.
Cori Rist: Was rumoured to have joined Tiger on tours during a brief fling.
Kalika Moquin: Las Vegas club promoter. Has refused to comment so far.
Jamie Jungers: Was engaged when she had fling with Tiger, her ex claims he is no longer a fan.
Mindy Lawton: Called Tiger selfish, said she was used as a sex toy.

According to gossip site RadarOnline.com Elin has moved out of the family home. Read the article here . Evidently Elin was not swayed by the £49 mill on offer to stand by her man. Well why would you when there’s a potential to completely screw him on alimony?

Meanwhile rumours are flying that Oprah is hoping to hook Woods for a tell-all interview *salivates*. That would be TV Gold! But joking aside, celebrities – especially those considered role models are in many ways beautified by members of the public and Tiger’s reputation, even with the help of the All Mighty Oprah, will forever be tarnished. Cheating on your wife – especially when she is pregnant – is career suicide. It shall be interesting to watch Tiger Wood’s next move, but as new details emerge every day I think he’s stuck in a sand trap. That’s some sort of golf reference right?

Darlings, no one is more ashamed then I not to be talking about THE MOST TALKED ABOUT THING EVER….a.k.a this years X Factor, but things have been frightfully hectic, partying hard with Lily Allen in Cap d’Antibes, relaxing with Catherine Z-J and Michael in St. Tropez, attending the theatre in Torquay to see my good friend Britt Ekland in Panto…you know the high life leaves you with such little free time! But I have honestly been tuning in when I can so without further ado, here are Patsy’s Predictions on the X Factor final night 2009:

Olly Murs: Oh Olly. Would have been a front runner if he showed some love to the losers and stopped dancing like your middle aged uncle at a 21st. Honestly, it’s like the Ricky Gervais Office dance except not at all funny. Olly has a Will Young vibe to him but Simon’s choice of cheesy songs over the course of the show has hindered him, rather than allowing him to stand out as a talented solo artist. Cowell needs to pick songs that are less predictable and Murs needs to focus on song choice, tone down the cheeky chappie persona. The Essex Mafia show up every week in large volumes so he could cause a shock on Saturday night.

Patsy’s Prediction: Third

Stacey Solomon: Everyone insists Stace isn’t the sharpest nail in the toolbox, but believe me a girl who can walk across a load of chairs in heels and sing at the same time must have a few cells floating around in her grey matter. Good strong voice, although much more suited to ballads she could be the surprise winner this year, but Dannii will need to pull out all the stops – and Kylie – to help Stacey wow the crowds and the public on Saturday night. If personality won the X Factor alone (and God knows it’s not always won on singing talent) the Dagenham Diva would have it in the Fendi clutch.

Patsy’s Prediction: Second

Joe McElderry: The judges declared Joe the dark horse if the competition…but was he really? Since Week One the worst comment he got was “stage school singer” and that’s not exactly much of an insult, compared with some of the classic zingers Cowell has uttered over the last few months.  Joe has been the most consistent performer and will more or less deliver each week – and in tune, something we haven’t seen much of this year! But has he got longevity – will we be buying Joe’s album in 2010?

Patsy’s Prediction: Geordie Joe to walk it.

In other news TV3’s Xpose have claimed Paul McCartney, George Michael, Michael Buble and Robbie Williams may perform on the show next Saturday. Since The Buble and Robbie have already been on I don’t see them making a return – but George and Paul would be incredible. That is,  if George can lay off the gange for a night.

Word on the Street – or Google News anyway – is that former Dawson’s Creek star  (and mother to the late great Heath Ledger’s gawgeous daughter Matilda) Michelle Williams is planning to tackle the role of actress Marilyn Monroe in a new biopic called Marilyn and Me, based on a book written by the late Colin Clark.
Michelle was not the first actress in the running to play the blonde bombshell, Scarlett Johansson was attached to the project for a brief period but after the actress claimed she felt no connection to the iconic star rumours fell flat. Director Simon Curtis and producer David Parfitt are now hoping to sign up Williams for the part, but the actress has yet to agree to the role.
My Week With Marilyn is the second of Clark’s books based on his time on working with Monroe during the filming of The Prince and the Showgirl with Sir Lawrence Olivier and the project has already caused some controversy among Monroe fans who have questioned the late author’s close relationship with the star during the shoot.

My Week With Marilyn is expected to commence shooting in 2010.

Now darlings, it’s the time of year when Awards Season begins and the first Major kicks off tomorrow night with The Golden Globe Awards. Now, the Globes is not just a warm up to The Holy Grail (a.k.a The Academy Awards), it’s  entertaining show in it’s own right, not least because they give the nominees plenty of booze. Now Patsy has had a look in her crystal ball for tomorrow night, and if you’re a betting man or woman, bookie’s pencils at the ready – here’s a look at the main runners and riders tomorrow night – and who I think is going to take the spoils…

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama:

Anne Hathaway – Rachel Getting Married
Angelina Jolie – Changeling
Meryl Streep – Doubt
Kristin Scott Thomas – I’ve Loved You So Long
Kate Winslet – Revolutionary Road

Patsy’s Prediction: Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married). We’ve already had the leak from the Golden Globe Website! But seriously, she’s the strongest contender for the title aside from Meryl, who she tied with at the CCG’s this week. I would prefer to see Meryl win this one, but the critics are going mad for Hathaway.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama:

Leonardo DiCaprio – Revolutionary Road
Frank Langella – Frost/Nixon
Sean Penn – Milk
Brad Pitt – The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
Mickey Rourke – The Wrestler

Patsy’s Prediction: Mickey Rourke (The Westler). Everyone Stateside is raving about Mickey Rourke’s glorious turn as a pug in The Wrestler, and you know the Hollywood Foreign Press love a good comeback. Would like to see Frank Langella get this one for his superb performance as Tricky Dicky in Frost/Nixon, but I feel it’s Rourke’s year.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy:

Javier Bardem – Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Colin Farrell – In Bruges
James Franco – Pineapple Express
Brendan Gleeson – In Bruges
Dustin Hoffman – Last Chance Harvey

Patsy’s Prediction: It’s a difficult catagory because there is no leading contenders. I think Javier Bardem might get it for Vicky Christina Barcelona – although Dustin Hoffman is an award favourite, I haven’t heard as much of a buzz for him to win a Globe.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy:

Rebecca Hall – Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Sally Hawkins – Happy-Go-Lucky
Frances McDormand – Burn After Reading
Meryl Streep – Mamma Mia!

Patsy’s Prediction: Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia). It was the film of the year and Meryl was the absolute star. No contest, although to be fair, Rebecca Hall and Francis McDormand are worthy contenders.

The Reader Revolutionary Road Slumdog Millionaire

Patsy’s Prediction:Slumdog Millionaire. The absolute feel-good flick of 2009, Danny Boyle has really returned to form with this movie. It’s won rave reviews across the board, and with the exception of Frost/Nixon,  has not disappointed.

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy:

Happy-Go-Lucky
In Bruges
Mamma Mia!
Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Patsy’s Prediction: Mamma Mia. I would like to see Woody Allen’s Vicky Christina Barcelona take this one, but I feel the HFP will play it safe in this category.

Stephen Daldry – The Reader
David Fincher – The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
Ron Howard – Frost/Nixon
Sam Mendes – Revolutionary Road

Patsy’s Prediction: David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). Fincher is a fine director, and should have won a couple of years back for Zodiac, but was overlooked. Critics are calling this the finest film of his career to date, I doubt the HFP will disagree.

Best Screenplay – Motion Picture:

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button: Written by Eric Roth
Doubt: Written by John Patrick Shanley
Frost/Nixon: Written by Peter Morgan
The Reader: Written by David Hare
Slumdog Millionaire: Written by Simon Beaufoy

Patsy’s Prediction: Frost/Nixon. If Frost/Nixon is to win any award in such a tight year, it’ll be this one. Although John Patrick Shanley stands a very good chance after winning a Pulitzer Prize for Doubt.

Best Performance By An Actress in A Supporting Role:

Amy Adams – Doubt
Penélope Cruz – Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Viola Davis – Doubt
Marisa Tomei – The Wrestler
Kate Winslet – The Reader

Patsy’s Prediction: Take Kate Winslet out of this catagory and it would be a hard call – all actresses gave great performances in their respective roles. But Winslet has got it in the bag.

Best Performance By An Actor in A Supporting Role:

Tom Cruise – Tropic Thunder
Robert Downey Jr. – Tropic Thunder
Ralph Fiennes – The Duchess
Philip Seymour Hoffman – Doubt
Heath Ledger – The Dark Knight

Patsy’s Prediction: Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight). Ledger unquestionably gave his finest performance in The Dark Knight as The Joker and it would be a sin if this was not recognized, especially as will see no more of the like from him.

Best Animated Picture:

Bolt
Kung Fu Panda
Wall-E

Patsy’s Prediction: No one saw Bolt. Kung Fu Panda was great and had Jack Black and Angelina. But Wall-E is Pixar, and every critic in the world salivated over it when it was released. A no brainer.
