It’s a tie for Meryl and Hathaway at Critic’s Choice Awards
Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway shared the spoils at the Critic’s Choice Awards when the two actresses tied in first place for Best Actress at the ceremony last night.
Streep won for her performance as a nun in the film Doubt, while Hathaway was awarded for her well lauded performance in Rachel’s Getting Married.
Other winners on the night were Oscar favourite Kate Winslet, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Reader and Sean Penn took Best Actor for indie flick Milk.
There were also awards for the late Heath Ledger for his performance in the Dark Knight and feelgood film Slumdog Millionaire took Best Picture.
The 14th Critic’s Choice Awards marks the start of Awards Season which will continue this weekend with the Golden Globes.
